Adriana Tesler

Tesler Salon

Hello Neighbor!

I have many fond memories growing up (pre-kindergarten) and lying on the carpet in front of the TV in my childhood home, my unicorn (“Uni”) in one hand and an apple juice in the other, watching Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood as my mom was in the kitchen either cooking or tidying up the house and my sister was at school. I LOVED everything about that show. Being that I was a very hyperactive kid there was always a certain calm that came over me while watching it. I loved how Mr. Rogers would get frequent visits from the postman and other folks in his neighborhood. At a young age this small detail instilled in me the belief that being part of a strong community is so important.

Flash forward to today, we are now lucky enough to have our office in sunny Los Angeles, which is such a treat! There’s so much talent bubbling in our own close-knit neighborhood, and in the spirit of Mr. Rogers’ spotlighting everyday standouts I thought it would be fun to introduce you to some of the friends in our Los Angeles neighborhood and give you a peek inside their creative worlds. We hope you are as inspired by these incredible women as we are!

Get to know Adriana:

1. Tell us about Tesler; when you opened and how you decided to open up a salon in Los Angeles?

I've been in the industry for over 15 years, as a celebrity hair and make-up artist. I've worked in Beverly Hills salons under celebrity colorist Tracey Cunningham, was voted 'Best Blow-out in LA' in Allure, have done Vogue covers, New York Fashion Week, and was nominated for an Emmy. Although I worked in Beverly Hills, I lived in Silver Lake, and quickly realized there wasn't any salon that offered the same level of service for the clients on the east side. I thought of all the moms that had to spend hours in traffic to get their hair done in Beverly Hills, and organize their day around it. It was then that I decided to open a salon in the heart of Silver Lake, where clients can get the same level of service they do in Beverly Hills, but in a very relaxed Cali-cool setting. We opened our doors on Valentine's Day 2020, and I had to close a month later due to the pandemic. It was very difficult to keep our doors open at first, but with faith, resilience, creativity and the support of our wonderful clients, we've been able to grow in our community.

2. What's your favorite hair trend of all time?

There's nothing like having a beautiful blow-dry.

3. Whos' your celebrity crush?

Maluma! I love his music, his playfulness. I feel like his music has been part of my life for so long, and always puts a smile on my face and makes me want to dance.

4. What was the last book you read or television series you watched? Would you recommend it?

I love 'Emily in Paris' on Netflix! It is funny and lighthearted. It makes me miss Paris, although I know the show is a bit romanticized. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for something refreshing and funny that doesn't take itself too seriously. I also love 'Call My Agent'. It is funny and very Parisian :)

5. What's something you could eat every day and not get tired of?

I was lucky enough to be raised in a family of restauranteurs; my parents owned Mexican restaurants and I was spoiled! My go-to comfort food are soups (caldo de pollo or green pozole). I also love a good carne asada taco!
